Current Student ProfilesThe world is filled with stories of young people who have gone on to shape the world as we know it, whether it’s a 17 year old high school student by the name of Bill Gates who goes on to launch a company called Micro-soft at age 20 or whether it’s a teenager by the name of Mark Zuckerberg playing around with computers at his father’s business who then goes on to launch a popular social networking portal called Facebook from his college dorm room at age 20; or whether it’s a 12 year old boy by the name of Nkosi Johnson who goes on to address the 13th International AIDS Conference only to be called an “icon of the struggle for life” by Nelson Mandela himself ‒ all these are ordinary young people who through applying their talents, skills, experiences and passions, each in their own way, went on to shape the world as we know it.
South Africa is not short of such leaders and African Leadership Academy is intent on showcasing them to the world; below are a few profiles of African Young Leaders who have also applied their skills, talents and passions towards taking
advantage of the opportunities and/or finding solutions to problems that faced their communities; because of the initiative that they have shown, the world has sat up and taken notice of them; African Leadership Academy is looking for more such young leaders in order to recognise their efforts, support their growth and expose their ideas to the world.
